Frequently Asked Questions about Catering:
Q: | What are your minimum size requirements for orders? |
A: | We will deliver to you for groups of 10 or more. |
Q: | How far away do you deliver? |
A: | If your order meets the criteria of $100.00 and meals for 10, we will deliver (free) from Oconto to North Menominee. We will deliver further based on size of order and distance which will dictate the delivery fee. |
Q: | What is the best way to contact you to place an order or ask more questions? |
A: | If you have any questions please call or e-mail us. Our office is staffed seven days a week, usually from 8:00 am until 1:00 pm, and 4:00 pm to 10:00pm. We are frequently on the phone, so please make use of the voice mail. We try our best to get back to our customers within the business day; if your call comes in later in the afternoon, we will get back to you that evening or the next morning. If you would like to meet in person, please call to make an appointment. We are very busy most days, and often can't accommodate drop-ins. We are happy to help you in any way with your order - from quantities to platter selection; often this can be accomplished via an e-mail or fax exchange. After noon, we will return it the following day. |
Q: | How much notice do I need to give for a catering order? |
A: | We usually require at least three full business days' notice for orders. During particularly busy seasons, more notice may be required. In the case of an unanticipated event, such as a memorial, we try our best to respond quickly. We can sometimes deliver quicker than that if you are flexible as to menu selections. We believe in constantly bringing in the freshest of foods so we may be limited for selection in an emergency. In the case of a staffed event (for corporate and institutional customers only), we usually require one week's notice. If you would like your order delivered, it's best to submit your order at least a week or more in advance. Our delivery schedule tends to fill up quickly, especially for the breakfast and lunch windows. Sorry, but we are unable to reserve a delivery window without an order or a $100 date-hold deposit. Please keep in mind that we sometimes book up for a particular day and must stop accepting orders. We always recommend placing your order as soon as you decide to use us to cater your event. |
Q: | What can I expect when I order from Schussler's Catering? |
A: | All of our food is prepared to order and some of it is intended to be served at room temperature or slightly chilled. Many of our entrees are prepared hot and meant to be served hot. As far as delivery, we guarantee that our hot foods are hot and cold foods cold. If the delivery is a non-staffed "drop & go" you will need to think about maintaining temperature for those foods after delivery. Our philosophy of fresh, healthy food is antithetical to heat-maintained foods. We are somewhat unique in that you can simply order "party platters" for pick-up or delivery. Our prices are published, and are the same for everyone. There are no hidden costs, though some of our prices vary with seasonal availability. In all cases, we will make sure you understand clearly what you are getting, and what it costs. Whether you are trying to figure out how much food to order for an open house, birthday party, or wedding reception, we will be attentive to your needs. Please let us know what you are looking for, and we will do our best to provide helpful information Please note that we are a full service catering company. In addition to pick-up and drop-off service we can provide staff , many unique services, and rental equipment for private parties. We do provide on-site staff for established corporate / institutional customers - please call us for details. |
Q: | Can I change my order once it has been placed? |
A: | We are usually able to accommodate changes made at least two business days before your event. Let us know when submitting your order if you anticipate making any adjustments whether it be menu changes or differences in amounts. Please note that we consider all orders final one full business day before the scheduled event date and are not able to make any changes after this time. |
Q: | How do I pay for my orders? |
A: | If this is a single one time drop or service you can give us a credit card number in advance and we will bring the slip along with delivery, or we can present the bill at delivery if you prefer to write a check. For ongoing corporate and institutional clients, we will bill monthly with accounts set up in advance. |
Q: | Do you do tastings? |
A: | Yes, with adequate advance notice we can arrange for you to taste items before you decide to order. Because we make everything to order, we cannot provide "drop-in" tasting. In general, we need about a week's notice to schedule a tasting. A tasting is normally scheduled for 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm, Tuesday through Friday. We charge $10 per item (enough for two to taste), maximum of five items. There are a few items on our menu that cannot be made for tastings - we'll let you know if you've chosen any of these items. If your final order exceeds $500, we will deduct 50% of the tasting charges from your balance due. |
Q: | Can't I just eat at the restaurant to find out what your food is like? |
A: | Our catering kitchen and cooking staff are separate from the restaurant kitchen and cooking staff, and our menu offerings are quite different. What we do have in common is great fresh food of course! There are a few items on our catering menus that are also on our dining, and we will be glad to point those out for you. We hope you'll love the restaurant food and have a great dining experience; and then you'll know you're in for a treat with our catering! |
Q: | Is a gratuity automatically added to my order? |
A: | We do not automatically add gratuities to drop-off catering orders. Staffed and Full service caterings have a 10% service charge added. We are often asked if tipping is customary, to which we respond that some customers do and others don't. The matter is up to you. Gratuities are shared among all who helped prepare and execute your order. |
